The RRTC/NMD is funded by the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) Grant H133B031113. The center has received funding from NIDRR since 1983.
Craig M. McDonald, M.D., Center Director
The RRTC/NMD is a part of the following:
The RRTC/NMD is one of the research and training centers funded by NIDRR. Each RRTC focuses on a particular aspect of behavioral, medical, or vocational rehabilitation. Some centers address research and training by disability area, such as deafness, low vision, spinal cord injury, or long-term mental illness. Other centers focus on independent living, demographics, housing, service delivery, and information systems. A description and contact information for each center can be found at Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers
NIDRR is one of three divisions of the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS). Like the RRTC/NMD and NIDRR, OSERS supports research to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities. All of these programs serve the Department of Education's goal of community integration for children and adults with disabilities.
